Physicians receive little to no education on nutrition in medical school
Why this is so critical now that a global pandemic is ravaging the world

When was the last time you were at a doctor’s office and he asked if you’d like to try eating your way to better health? Either to prevent, treat, or reverse a common disease you may have? Instead, he/she reaches for their prescription pad and writes out one or more, typically more, drugs for you to take for your ailment. They hand you the “script” and head out the door. Each one of those pills you will be taking have possible side effects, they might cost you out-of-pocket money, but something even more that you might not be aware of. And that is of the way to prevent, treat, and possibly reverse your condition with food. The RIGHT food. Specifically a whole food plant-based diet.
The jury is in. Research has shown that the plant-based diet can prevent, treat, and often reverse many common diseases like diabetes, heart disease, obesity, hypertension, inflammatory diseases and even some cancers.

Over and over we hear those with underlying health issues are losing their lives to the virus. Diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, heart disease, inflammatory diseases and more. There are many, young and old who don’t even know they have one of these underlying conditions until it reaches critical proportions. Like becoming a victim of COVID-19.
In a Medium article by Dr. David L. Katz, There’s an epidemic that’s a bigger threat than the coronavirus, he states, “Diet is the major contributor to diabetes, heart disease and stroke, and an important contributor to cancer, liver disease, dementia and more. At least 50 percent of all premature death can be traced to effects of diet in whole or part, so let’s call the fatality rate 50 percent.”
Now more than ever it is apparent that everyone must do whatever they can to get themselves healthy. The best way is the research-backed plant-based diet. It is something anyone can do, and it’s the best life insurance policy you can take out on your life.
People can take control of their health and reverse their diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and more.
I know because I’ve done it myself. A year ago I was on the verge of dying from diabetes. I learned of the plant-based diet and reversed my Type 2 Diabetes, no longer have high blood pressure, and lost 70 pounds, and my A1C went from 12.4 to 5.9

Another key point here is that pills don’t reverse a problem. They only deal with the symptoms. With Type 2 Diabetes, for example, by taking pills and insulin to treat it, the root of the problem will always remain, and it stays a progressive disease. Type 2 diabetes is not caused by carbohydrates and sugar as has been believed all these years. Instead, research has proven that it is caused by fatty foods that can cause fat build-up inside the cells, preventing insulin from transporting glucose molecules into the cells. We can thank the tireless work of Dr. Neal Barnard for this revelation. The plant-based diet addresses the cause of this disease, not just treating the symptoms.
There are the physicians at the forefront of the plant-based movement, most notably Dr. Neal Barnard, among others who are leading the paradigm shift for the plant-based movement. Dr. Barnard is an Adjunct Professor at George Washington University, as well as the Founding President of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.
Dr. Michael Klaper, another pioneer of the plant-based movement, and Founder of Moving Medicine Forward, is traveling to medical schools around the country to (a) help awaken young health professionals to the key role of their patient’s diet as a cause — and potential cure — of chronic disease and (b) to promote the teaching of applied plant-based nutrition as part of the medical school curriculum for all physicians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists and other health professionals.
People need to start taking control of their health and their life NOW. Adopting a plant-based diet is the biggest step you can take in that direction. You also need to share this information with your doctor to enable them to learn about the power of the plant-based diet. Each doctor who learns about it can in turn offer this to their patients. The more people who learn about it, the more people can start their journey to their best health ever.
The plant-based diet is not only your route to great health, but it’s delicious too! People new to it don’t realize just how good you can be eating! There’s thousands of great recipes on-line that are simple and inexpensive.
