DIY SEWING AND PHOTOGRAPHY
Photographing Your DIY Projects
This a follow-up on my sewing bag journey

Since I’m a visual learner, I like to photograph the process when doing a DIY project. That way, I keep a detailed record of how I do each task. Some people are diligent note-takers, and that’s great too.
Let me start with the last bag I made. My mom asked if I could make her a small bag to hang on her walker to carry water and a few little healthy treats when she is out on her walks.
So, this is what I came up with — a lunchbox/purse.

I’ve inserted a Lavex Packaging insulated foil bag to keep the food fresh. I thought of sewing it into the bag. However, it’s better not to for sanitary purposes. Removing the foil bag to clean is more manageable and can be changed anytime.
My mom is 92 years of age. She has arthritis and has difficulty opening things, so I added the little metal flower to the zipper to make it easier to open. It works great! By the way, my mom loves her new bag.
Tote Bags

Here is a big tote bag I made with the same vinyl material. For the lining, I used wool fabric. To close the bag, I used a Magnetic Snap. I sewed the snap in between the fabrics. My daughter loves this bag.
Gifts
Three of my sisters and a niece had birthdays this month; guess what they got?

I’ve sewn several more bags, but I don’t want to bore you too much.
I have a long way to go before I master the craft of sewing. I practice it every day in the hopes of one day getting as good as the people I follow on YouTube.
I also enjoy learning about different types of fabrics, threads, zippers, and all the tools used in the craft of sewing.
Here are three of my favorite YouTube tote bags sewing channels. Disclaimer, I have no affiliation with any of these channels. Enjoy!
