DIY PROJECTS AND PHOTOGRAPHY

Photographing and Sharing My DIY Sewing Projects

From a skirt to bags

I turned a skirt into a tote bag and two zipper pouches for this first sewing project.

Typically, I photograph each step for my DIY projects; however, for this project, I don’t know why I forgot to photograph the skirt before cutting it. Also, I will only show the end products to keep this post short.

Creating this tote bag was a fun project. I love this fabric’s bright colors and texture, and since the skirt no longer fits me, I thought I could still use this lovely fabric in a different form.

Multi-purpose Zipper Pouches

With the leftover fabric, I made two multi-purpose zipper pouches, one for my daughter and one for me.

These handy pouches have multi-purpose use. As seen in the images above, I can use it as my glasses pouch or for carrying my phone and wallet inside.

The skirt went a long way.

I’ve wanted a tote bag with a zipper for my iPad and thought I would try it. I had this fabric left over from an earlier project, and I also had some padding. I sewed this well-fitted bag for my iPad, which can also fit my phone and wallet. I am happy with the results.
