AI skin color — secrets revealed!

Note: Midjourney has launched a game changer for generating images! Currently in testing (but totally awesome!) Bring up your settings (by typing /settings) and choose V4.

As different sections of the prompt (the basics, emotions, photo or painting style, etc.) have been covered previously, we will be covering skin tones/color in this article. There are multiple ways to achieve this. So, let’s get started!

For the first image, I included African man to tell the AI what his skin color would be. When you do this, it will include characteristics for the nationality chosen.

To make the young man look tribal and authentic, I searched what they would wear and added that he be wearing Toghu — such incredible detail in the outfit and with the beading.

For this example, I told the AI to create black skin and, again, to be wearing Toghu. This produced the same dark skin color with the tribal appearance I was aiming for.

Again, amazing detail in the beads, paint, his lips — even skin pores!

You can achieve the skin tone by choosing a specific person. For this prompt, I chose Mae Jemison — the first black woman in space.

Midjourney did a fantastic job, as usual!

Mae’s uniform alone is full of different textures and materials — the metal glistens in the light. The space craft was an added bonus by the name prompt.

Another example of utilizing a nationality in the prompt, we have an Asian woman.

I wanted to follow through with authentic national clothing and have her wearing a Kimono.

This image shows individual hairs, threads of the kimono, and AI is much better with the eyes after this update.

For this image, we are using, very simply, From China. Midjourney created a beautiful Chinese woman, also wearing a Kimono.

AI shows the intricate details of the threads in the kimono’s flowers and every aspect of the image.

Note: None of these images were remastered! V4 and beta upscale redo were perfect!

I thought we’d have a little AI fun with this request for a Spanish bull fighter. (I am not saying I agree with the practice of bull fighting — don’t message me about this.)

As above, we are given the clothing to match the person listed — and packed with intricate details.

Here is one more example (because I was having fun with it all) of a woman from Mexico.

As I often need to do, I searched the clothing to find the dancers wear a flamenco dress.

Yes, the right hand is odd but the rest is stunning!

For this one, I chose to have a woman from Denmark. You can be specific with any part of the world you want your character to look like they stepped out of.

If a hair color, eye color, or skin color is more dominant — AI will generate these traits.

Unimportant side note: When I was in school, we had an exchange student from Denmark (Charlotte) — thus why I chose what I did!
