Photo Documented: Week 5 Of 2024
Recycled thermal, ever nothing. Shrouded, judge deliberated.

Yes — it’s that time of the week — and it’s week FIVE. How is it week five? Wasn’t it Christmas just a few days ago?
But no, we’ve just reached February, and the year is flying, as we all knew it would. This week has been a struggle to take a photo every day, as it’s been rather busy.
I also came down with a very mild case of shingles a few days ago, so have been trying to get some extra rest. I’ve not succeeded though.
Anyway, you came here for the photos, so here we go.
Day 29 — Recycled

One of my favourite things about my Chromebook is its back-lit keyboard.
I’ve only owned three Chromebooks in my life. The previous two I owned for years and certainly got my money’s worth out of them.
This one I’ve had since my birthday in June 2023. It’s an Acer Vero, made out of recycled plastic. But it’s really tough, and also speedy, with 8GB RAM.
Plus it has a back-lit keyboard. Did I mention that?
Day 30 — Thermal

I got these for Christmas.
No, not the laminate flooring. No, not the jeans.
Yes, the socks. Third time lucky, well done.
They’re thermal socks.
I wear them when my feet are cold, or I need some form of additional comfort in life. Which, in 2024, is quite often.
Day 31 — Ever

This photo tells the story of when I dropped off my daughter at an acting lesson. It was raining lightly, and the sun was going down.
This is not the sun, but an oncoming car.
The image also reminds me of two things:
- To not let my wife wipe the inside of the windscreen next time it mists up. Do not touch the windscreen. Ever.
- I need to get the inside of the windscreen cleaned.
Apart from that, it’s open to interpretation.
Day 32 — Nothing

Now things get a little tricky, because I’ve reached a new month (just like you). This means the number of photos does not correlate with the day of the month anymore. This is likely to get highly confusing for me, eventually. Either that, or I could just check which day I’m on by looking at the previous post.
And post rhymes with toast, and here we have some toast.
Yep, you guessed it. I only took one photo today, and this is it.
Nothing else happened. I ate toast. That was it.
Day 33 — Shrouded?

Who’s the mysterious hooded person, shrouded in darkness? I don’t know, but I appreciate the light illuminating the edge of his hood.
I also like the graininess of the background, caused by a high ISO due to shooting at night when the room was poorly lit.
What? I forgot to take a photo today and had to shoot one last minute before bed? What are you talking about?
Day 34 — Judge

Not mine. The boy’s. Typical Saturday lunch when all he wants to do is run off and stick his face to a screen for the next hour. Yes, we’re great parents.
Don’t judge unless you’ve been there yourself, yo.
Anyway, it’s OK because we went to the skate park later, so he got some exercise in.
Day 35 — Deliberated

I deliberated for some time as to whether to go with monotone or colour for this shot. As you’ll see, I went for the black and white option, and I don’t regret my choice. The shapes of the leaves especially make this photo work in black and white, in my opinion anyway.
I do have a colour version of this, from a slightly different angle. It might feature in an article near you someday.
I foresee the next couple of weeks providing some more interesting photos than this week’s offering, as we drive to Cornwall on Saturday for a week’s holiday. After only one month of 2024, we feel like we need a break.
Thanks for reading!
