Philly Cheese Ground Beef and Rice One Pot Dinner
One pot easy cheesy dinner for any night of the week
This one pot Philly Cheese Ground Beef and Rice dinner is full of seasoned ground beef, green peppers, sliced mushrooms, and plenty of melty cheese. Easy and quick stove top, one pot dinner, served with a simple salad, makes a delicious meal.
Philly Cheese Ground Beef and Rice One Pot Dinner
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
1 cup diced onion
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 cup diced green peppers, fresh or frozen
1 cup sliced mushrooms
2–3 cups beef broth, more if needed, or a little water is fine
2 cups instant rice
2 packets of brown gravy mix
10.5 ounce can of cream of mushroom soup
3 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions:
- In a large pot, cook hamburger, onion and garlic over medium heat until no longer pink, chopping it as it cooks. Drain off excess grease
- Add the rice to the pot, adding beef broth until rice is well covered
- Cook until rice is done, adding more beef broth, or water if needed, reduce heat to medium-low
- Add gravy mix, mushroom soup, green peppers, mushrooms, and all seasonings to the pot. Allow to simmer on low until mushrooms and green peppers are tender. Stir in 1 cup of cheese.
- Turn off heat, add the remaining 2 cups of cheese over top, and cover with a lid until the cheese melts.
This recipe takes about 30 minutes and serves a family of four. A quick and easy meaty, cheesy satisfying meal. Pairs well with a simple side salad for a satisfying meal any day of the week.
