TBIN SHORT FORM WEEKLY PROMPT
Pet Peeves At Work — In Shortform?
I could write a novel

To stick to the brevity rules, my biggest peeve is spoon-feeding.
All too often, my teaching colleagues feed students information to be successful in our exams, preventing them from employing their thinking skills to figure answers out for themselves.
They have the mindset that failures look bad on them, the teacher.
If the application of knowledge is not addressed, learning becomes a memory game. Students can’t determine the what, why and how because they don’t understand it.
Nurses require a sound knowledge base to quickly establish normal from abnormal; they also need a solid skill base to resolve presenting issues and function as safe and effective team members.
All of these skills should be developed during training.
They cannot function without practice, exposure and feedback. We owe it to them to foster life in the real world.
Mollycoddling has no place in nursing training.
It irks me no end!
Thanks to CARMEN F MICSA for the tag and TBIN for the prompt.
