Mindset Shifts
Perspective: The Most Powerful Mindset Tool
It changes everything…

I’m blessed to have a mentor and buddy, Andy Andrews, who knows a thing or two about perspective.
Andy’s the author of a great series of 3 books on perspective centered around a man named Jones.
As Andy says:
“Not Mr Jones. Just Jones.”
In fact, the 3rd book, and his most recent, is, you guessed it, “Just Jones.”
Here’s Andy’s quote about the power of perspective:
“Perspective is the only thing that can change the results without changing any of the facts.”
My first experience with perspective-changing results
I was not the best student growing up. Drove my parents crazy.
They really did almost lose their minds the summer after I graduated from high school.
I had done very well on my CLEP test, “Cleping out” my entire freshman year of college. But I couldn’t get into Florida Tech University (then soon to be the University of Central Florida) because my high school grades, especially my 12th-grade year, were so bad. So I had to go to Valencia Community for my first year of college.
During a beach trip with my “college” youth group that summer, one of the youth pastors asked me about my college plans. I told him the above story. It was obvious I was down and embarrassed about it.
And he said:
Youth Pastor: “Well that simply means God has a better plan for where you go for college.”
Me: “That’s a good way to look at it.”
Youth Pastor: “That’s the only way to look at it.”
Me: Mindset, results, and life, shift and change, right there on that beach house deck…
I had a great first year of college, getting to study things I was actually interested in. I didn’t know this could happen. Without this shift in perspective, I’m not sure I get into Grad School later.
Bottom Line: None of the facts changed. My perspective did. And thus my results and my life.
Not a bad ROI…
