Summary

The article emphasizes that personal and planetary transformation occurs naturally through the recognition and focus on inherent beauty and perfection, rather than through a forced drive for change.

Abstract

The author argues that transformation at both a personal and global level is an inevitable outcome of embracing the present moment's beauty and perfection. By focusing on the positive aspects of the world and ourselves, we empower and amplify these qualities, leading to organic change. The article suggests that the need to change arises from a lack of appreciation for the current state of being. It posits that love, particularly unconditional love, is the catalyst for true transformation, and that by trying to change others or the world, we are inadvertently reinforcing a sense of imperfection. The text concludes that when we operate from a place of wonderment and love, change happens effortlessly as a byproduct of our state of being.

Opinions

  • Change is a constant process and should not be the primary focus; instead, we should concentrate on the beauty and perfection of the present.
  • Attempting to change oneself or others implies a lack of acceptance and love for the current state of being.
  • Unconditional love for oneself and the world is the most powerful agent of transformation.
  • Focusing on faults gives them energy and power, whereas focusing on beauty and perfection empowers love and growth.
  • Perception plays a crucial role in reality; by perceiving the inherent beauty and perfection, our actions and reactions will naturally align with this perspective, leading to genuine change.
  • The idea that we can only truly love others if we love ourselves, and vice versa, is reiterated, suggesting a symbiotic relationship between self-love and love for others.
  • The article suggests that the state of wonderment, joy, and love is the key to stepping off the "hamster wheel" of constant, unproductive striving for change.

Personal and Planetary Transformation

Getting off the hamster wheel

If we can see the incredible wondrous beauty in the world then we are filled with joy rather than with a need to change the world. If we focus on the crap then that need to change things rises within us. Some say that the planet does not need to transform but I feel that it will, simply because that is its nature. Change is a constant. If we are focused on directing that change then we are obviously not focused on the beauty and perfection that is so prevalent in the NOW moment.

The same thing can be said on a personal level. If we are totally focused on changing ourselves then we are not focused on the incredible beauty and perfection of ourselves just as we are. We are not truly loving ourselves. When we can see and focus on our own beauty and perfection, that beauty and perfection becomes empowered and grows and engulfs our lives. Change is a byproduct of this. It happens as a result of that self-love growing and impacting ever more parts of our lives. If we focus exclusively on the byproduct then we are missing out on what causes that byproduct and we are spinning our wheels trying to make change happen instead of letting it happen as a result of loving ourselves.

We cannot unconditionally love someone if we are trying to change them.

We can move from a personal level to a level that includes friends and families and coworkers. If we feel we need to change or transform any of them and if we are focusing on that we are essentially holding them in a state of imperfection and not much is really going to change. If we see and focus on the beauty and perfection in them, then we are empowering them and the love within them, helping that love to grow which results in change and transformation.

The same goes for global levels. We cannot transform the world except through seeing the outrageously incredible beauty and perfection of it and getting into and staying in a state of wonderment and joy and love. We can focus on other people’s faults and the faults of the world and this gives energy to those faults and empowers those faults. Only love transforms and it is just as powerful on all levels of existence.

I have said it before but I will say it again: We cannot love all others unless we love ourselves and we cannot love ourselves unless we love all others. When we are in a state of wonderment there is no need to change anything. And that is exactly when everything changes.

But do things really change or is it just our perceptions that change? Many teachers have said that we create our reality through perception. Since the outrageously incredible beauty and perfection are already there, we are not changing anything by seeing it but as we hold that state of wonderment over it our subsequent actions and reactions naturally change as a result. This is the byproduct. This is the change that happens.

Unconditional love transforms all things. Everything else is a hamster wheel. Love, joy, and beauty are what can hold us in a state of wonderment and in that state we can step out of the hamster wheel and love ourselves into existence.
