Do you know who Dick Williams is? Okay, probably not. But, I’m sure you’ve heard of the infamous Titanic, right? I thought so. Well, Dick Williams was a survivor of the catastrophic capsizing of the Titanic. After remaining waist-deep in freezing waters for about six hours, doctors told him that both his legs needed to be amputated.

Well, Mr. Williams did something that most people wouldn’t dare do — go against doctor’s orders/recommendations in what seemed like - had he not listened to them, a dire outcome.

But William had his mind made up and his heart set on accomplishing this goal of winning the Wimbledom Men’s Doubles back in 1920. And THAT feat he did execute. Perhaps we might all take a lesson from Mr. Williams, a Titanic survivor.

Allow NO ONE to rob you of your dreams!

You were put here on this beautiful Earth to bring certain happenings into existence.

To put it in more personal terms, you’ve been tasked with bringing forth YOUR talents and gifts to the World. And there’s no one else here on Earth who can impart them upon the World as you can.

Are you sulking about something that didn’t go as you planned? Maybe it’s about a job you were not offered or about a job for which you did not come close to being interviewed.

Did you ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe, God/The Universe is calling you to do or towards something else?

Please do not get spent on the “what if’s” and the “if only’s” of life.

In other words, don’t get STUCK in regret mode!

But, unfortunately, so many of us do this — spending valuable time on a useless endeavor that has already passed.

Imagine trying to revive a corpse after it has already been dead for a week!

Wouldn’t that be a senseless waste of time?

Remember this the next time you find yourself wasting time dreaming about what could have been.

Honey, life has moved on, and so should you.

Try channeling Dick Williams’s energy — set a goal, dig your heels in, and don’t stop until you get there!

And when you hit a wall (because you will), do not get discouraged!

Conjure up all the strength you can muster, and climb that wall like it’s nobody’s business. But, before you start climbing the wall, visualize yourself at the top, right before you jump down on the other side!

Walls and mountains arrive on our paths, not as obstacles but as endurance builders. Because when you finally arrive at your goal, you want to show up as a new person — not the same person you were when you began the journey towards this goal.

Because as that expression goes, it’s not about the destination. It’s all about the journey.

It’s about the lessons learned, wisdom achieved, and strength that you built along the way.

Take action today. Commit to something bigger than yourself, and watch greatness unfold.
