Permanent smile
A poem
I’ve had enough Of this day-to-day I’ve tried everything Think I’ll go away.
The anticipation Of a better place Puts a permanent smile On my face.
I don’t care anymore I have no worries And I savor the day No need to hurry.
I saw my friends And they were pleased Pointing out I seem at ease.
“It’s been a long time” And he was right I’ve been down so long But not tonight.
I walked back home With a spring in my step I have a plan now And no regrets.
Goodbye people Goodbye past It’s going to be good Peace at last.
My things are packed I lie awake Too happy to sleep And here’s daybreak.
Hello sunshine I’m almost there I put my head in the noose And kick the chair.
