Perfectly Imperfect

A haiku — May writing prompt

Photo by Jonathan Hoxmark on Unsplash

I’m broken, I’m whole

I’m perfectly imperfect

I’m free to be me.

Perfection is an illusion.

As human beings, none of us are perfect, or perhaps we are all perfect — perfectly imperfect — as we are. We may be broken (whatever that means to each of us), but we are also simultaneously whole because who gets to determine what is perfect when it comes to our humanity?

This May I invite you to marinate in this idea of being perfectly imperfect; to meet yourself with acceptance and compassion and to invite your whole beautiful self to tea.

Sit with yourself; be open and loving and see what you discover.

Only from this place of full acceptance and self-love can we grow into our true selves. Get to know yourself. Sit with yourself as you are; sift through the muck and allow your whole self to come forth, to be.

Stand tall and shine as you are, and when you don’t like what you see — dare to change it, if you want to.

Join me this month in a conversation about your imperfections, and mine!
