It’s how you choose to see it

I often look at the stars and the way they shine down on our precious Earth. I wonder if they look back at us, too. Admiring us, humans. Loving us, caring for us.

Because when I see the stars, I become one with them, I feel a sense of calmness and warmth surrounding my capsule. I feel happy, content, safe. I know I am taken care of by the universe. I feel like I can do just about anything.

And sometimes when I think of the others that share this universe with me, I wonder if they see the stars the same way that I do — big and beautiful, promising, and present. Or if they see them as dull, or dark, or too far away. Maybe they don’t even acknowledge the stars. They’re too out of reach anyway.

But that is the special thing about perspective. We have a choice to perceive the world as we wish. Whether that be positively or negatively.

We can choose to see the beauty in life, even when things are rough, uncomfortable, or scary. We can choose to see the stars as wonderous specs of matter, or measly specs of dust.

In the end, you decide, it’s your perspective.
