Some theories on this on why people do this

Ok, so this has been bothering me just a tad… ok, it’s been bothering me a lot!
Why some people follow but do not engage or interact at all is a bit puzzling to me. No comments or highlights or even one clap.
Here are my ideas as to why this may happen:
- They think my photo is cute and want to save it for worship later. Weird but whatever.
- They think my photo is cute and want to stalk me later. Been there done that. Did I mention I currently live on Mars?
- They are extremely, extremely shy.
- They are a secret talent scout for The New Yorker. Don’t roll your eyes! It could happen and when it does your going to be sorry!
- They merely want to read and not interact. It’s not like it’s a crime or anything.
- They want me to make the first move toward interaction and then they will interact back. No seriously, I think this really happens. It’s very passive-aggressive behavior. Then again, they could be in luck there because I love mental cases — makes me feel right at home in the world.
- They follow so that I will follow them and then at some point they will unfollow me. Nice try, losers. I have an Instagram account so I already know all about this. Not falling for it.
- Perhaps it’s just like a lot of things in life: mysterious and unexplainable… just like all those people who walk around Walmart or the grocery store loaded down with stuff and dropping shit because they didn’t think they would need a cart. Just get a cart already people! I don’t care if you say you’re only buying milk — we both know you’re gonna walk out with $50 worth of shit so just get the dang cart.
- Who cares? They are adding to my follower count, if nothing else. I don’t believe people at all when they say they don’t care how many followers they have — more is always better!
What do you think? What’s your thoughts on why people do this?
