Abstract

People Like Me

Just simple people

Just like you, I had comrades once dear, Perhaps now, distant, no longer near. Over time, companions turned to mere acquaintances, Unaware of the consequences, lost in their instances. Simple folks, simple sorrows they bear, Close, yet different, in many a affair. Destinies filled with desires so keen, Yet tainted with sadness, by powers unseen.

I’ve met many souls, diverse in spirit, Some jesters, some jest, with names, they inherit. Not guided by wealth or the lure of gold, Nor manipulated by stories untold. Yet among many, there lingers strife, Beware those near when closeness is rife. I still believe in humanity’s light, As long as we resist conforming to the night.

People like us, Ordinary souls, Simple yet extraordinary goals.

I see discontent spread far and wide, Reasons aplenty, where grievances abide. We’ve already drifted, lost in our screens, Distracted from things that are truly unseen. Tiny matters, seemingly trivial, Yet precious gems, in a world so brutal. It’s easy to complicate, to adorn with deceit, But when amassed, those trivialities, we often defeat.

In a world of angels amidst the brutes, I seek simplicity, without disputes. I crave sincerity, devoid of obligations, For I’ll do as I please, without reservations.

I sit on a chair, let’s engage in conversation, A smile between souls, the best communication.

I write on the edge of a fresh new page, Us, ordinary people, not caught in a stage. No heroes here, they’re for tales and shows, Just ordinary folks, seeking repose. Here we have needs, but need not rely, On others to dictate, who we are, who we defy.

It’d be wise to vote, to decide what to eat, How many hours to toil, how often to meet. I seek ordinary people around me, Is that too much, or is it easy to see? To receive what I give, without outcry, I yearn for normalcy, can it be nigh?

People like us, that’s what I seek, Not too much, nor too unique. To accept what’s offered, without a cry, I yearn for people like us, to come by.

Do I wander alone in this vast expanse, Or are there others, caught in the same dance? Are these trials mine alone to bear, Or do we share burdens, in silent despair? In this maze of life, do I tread my own path, Or are there fellow travelers, facing the wrath?

Where do I seek solace in times of need, In the rush of the crowd, or in silent creed? Do I dare to dream amidst the chaos and noise, Or do I bury my hopes, like forgotten toys? Can I find peace in the tumultuous sea, Or am I destined to forever flee?

Who am I, in this grand tapestry of fate, A mere thread, or a force to create? Do I shape my destiny with each choice I make, Or am I a pawn, in a game others stake? Can I break free from the chains that bind, And carve a path that’s uniquely mine?

Where do I find the courage to stand tall, In the face of adversity, do I rise or fall? Do I embrace the challenges that come my way, Or do I cower in fear, and silently sway? Can I find strength in my vulnerabilities, And turn them into virtues, with ease and tranquility?
