People Are Still Awesome
“Still Awesome…”
During this time I look to those I love I see in their faces that you can’t mask love
People are still awesome You can see it in their eyes First we learn to survive But soon we learn to thrive!
People are resilient We’re built to overcome No matter how far bent We don’t have to succomb
To cold bleak days centered around a virus. Amidst political haze, I noticed an Iris
It still blooms in uncertain times Blue jays still plume The wind still chimes
Have they not heard what’s going on in our world? Have they not received word of this changing whirlwind?
The sun still shines Oh…so bright Darkness still ends with dawn’s first light
My grass is still green My plants continue to grow My fruits, I harvest Nature goes with the flow
Water still trickles down the gentle stream Laughter still tickles Dreamers still dream
Tides continue the flow set by the moon which continues to glow as drama still swoons
Nature doesn’t stop to listen to mankind Perhaps I should stop and listen to the divine
Listen to the silence to what it has to say Savor the moments before they slip away
No matter what takes place in the world outside, sometimes nature is a divine guide
No need to despair I can still grow I can still show The world I care
