Peace Shows Me the Way

A poem on silence

Breath hangs in the air, Suspended in time’s Edgy atmosphere — An absence of chimes.

Space between my thoughts, Default network sleeps. Inner peace is caught — Tangled in the deep.

Noise erupts from stars, Yet doesn’t reach my ears, Divine seminars Do not demand I hear.

Seeking the quiet, Senses now shut down, Spiritual diet Then feeds chakra’s crown.

Vacuum in my head Cooks up theta waves. Comfort jam now spread — Restless mind behaves.

Such absence of sound Nurtures, soothes and heals. Heart no longer pounds — True self is revealed.

I am back, inhale Life’s delicious air. Now I ring the bell, Announce that I am here.

I welcome the hush Which helps me hold the day Steady, with no rush.

Peace shows me the way.

“After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.” — Aldous Huxley.

Thank you Sahil Patel for your prompt on the concept of silence. Inspiring, as always.
