Peace In Forgetting
To forget is to have a good time no matter what

to forget to solve the badness or wrongness in me is to be at peace with it
to forget to sit and dissolve the discomfort is to be already okay with discomfort and so at peace with it
it also means forgetting to avoid that very discomfort
to forget to resolve anxieties and traumas is to have it already embraced without any effort
to forget to fix a bad mood is to do whatever I care to do without waiting for a better mood
to forget to fall for habitual reflexes is to rebel against your conditioning without shedding blood
to forget to see shame or embarrassment as a threat is to outgrow it
how would I know if something is dangerous or to be avoided unless I am constantly reminding myself that it is danger and so what if I forget to remind me
it's all in the head what the hell a compulsive rule I follow mindlessly
to forget the rule at least for a moment is to regain sanity
to forget to fight with the tension of creative work is to engage wholeheartedly with it as it is
to forget to postpone to forget to procrastinate to forget to fix my mental state is to have it in control already
maybe I can afford to take a day off to forget my compulsive reflexes
and maybe I can do it every other day
or would I seek permission from those who are fixed in their stubbornness and prolong my suffering
then perhaps I can forget to seek approval and see how it goes
there is peace in being a fool who forgot to follow the rules in his head put by others
“It will do you no harm to find yourself ridiculous. Resign yourself to be the fool you are.” — T.S. Eliot
