Peace In A Time Of Panic
What I learned then that is of help now.
With what is happening in the world lately, I am feeling at peace.
Let me share how…
…I have been through a few challenging times throughout my life, especially these last five years. The details do not matter, what matters and why I am sharing is that everything worked out for my highest good. I came out stronger — a better version of myself.
So many are panicking now, which is totally understandable. I remember past times when I was panicking. So stressed with anxiety and worry — to the point where I couldn’t live that way any longer. I had to find peace in those times.
I look to share another tool that helped me find peace then, and what is helping me now continue in peace.
With my prior challenges, I could not look at what was happening from a victim mentality — that would not serve me or anyone who had to deal with me.
What helped me is having faith and trust. Faith in God, some may say Source or the Universe. However you choose to call it, I believed that He had my back. And I had to trust in the process of what was happening. Trust in myself in making the right decisions, trust in the people that stepped forward to aid me.
Mr. Rogers said of dark times, “Look for the helpers”, and I sure did. I used my energy to move past the worry (and of course I had many of those moments) and moved into the energy of belief. Putting my focus on the positive not only calmed me, it helped me to focus on what would move me forward.
It was during one particularly challenging time that I found Michael Bernard Beckwith’s inspiration. He is an author and the founder of Agape International Spiritual Center. His thoughts were a game changer for me! He shared, “When circumstances and situations are pressing in upon us, the only way we can overcome them is to go within”.
The Universal Presence will answer any questions that you ask.
He helped me to see that questions like Why Me? What’s wrong? Who’s to blame? were dis-empowering questions. Asking those type of questions will only give you excuses.
Asking empowering questions will give you answers to help you rise above the muck. Ask with sincerity and then have the willingness to really listen for the answer. Which to me, wasn’t a spoken one — it was answered through the way my life then played out.
The empowering questions that Dr. Beckwith shared are questions I ask on a daily basis to help me not only during challenging times but through the journey of my life.
- What is trying to emerge in me?
- What is my gift to share?
- What is my purpose?
- Why am I on this planet?
I have learned over time that through the dark times, there is light. I cling to that light to help me rise up out of it, otherwise I would stay stuck.
Many I follow in the spiritual community are sharing that we are here in this time for a reason and that it’s for our highest good. You may chose to believe that — or not. It’s your choice. I’m choosing to believe. I’ve been in some dark places and I’ve seen the light.
We all have the power within us — time to start tapping into it. Just like Dorothy. The Wizard of Oz, a movie I enjoyed as a child and really appreciate as an adult.
It took a cyclone to shake her — to wake her. Could COVID 19 of 2020 be like Dorothy’s cyclone of 1900? Is this here to awake us up? A catalyst to go within? A time for change? I feel that there isn’t a right or wrong answer. It’s up to you and your perception.
Some will look at this time as a loss, others will see it as a time of gain. Are you in reaction or are you in creation? What you believe — you receive.
What can you create in this time now? Maybe it’s time to start a NEW business, or move away from a current business that was already struggling or not fulfilling you. Maybe it’s time to change careers, or move into a NEW job. Maybe it’s time to end a relationship that’s not serving you, or move into NEW one. Maybe it’s time to realize you are better off away from some of the toxic people you have been surrounded by and find a NEW tribe. Maybe it’s time to set boundaries, maybe it’s time to set yourself free. Maybe it’s time to rest and repair your body — your mind — your soul…
With all that is going on on the outside, maybe it’s time to go within. Use your energy not to worry but to believe.

Until next time ~
Sending you light, love — and peace.
Be Well,
