Pavlova is a much loved spring and summer dessert in Australia and New Zealand. It takes its name from the famed Russian ballerina, Anna Pavlova, who toured both countries in the 1920s. One enthusiast described the dessert as being “as light as Pavlova.”

The meringue base is topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit such as berries, kiwi, mango, or passionfruit.

Thank you B.R. Shenoy for your Food Haiku prompt! Enjoyed writing this.

Many thanks to Dennett and Tracy Aston for publishing my poem.
