“Pauperrimus” — Our Performance on behalf of Our System of Government
“OUR” people in government today are demonstrating how a “Civil War” without bullets is to be conducted. The Bottom line is, that they have broken their “oath of office.”

Our “Government System” is based on the people, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution. “We” would not exist in one of them did not exist. These, put together makes us what we are. This is the oath we all take if we happen to work in the service of our Nation.
The word “system” is very popular and it is used offhandedly in the description of a compilation of things that work together to achieve a goal.
We hear the word often used by the news media when they say, “Our system of government…, our system is not geared for that….,” or something similar containing the word “system.” Meanwhile, all they are after is talking about the government as a whole and making a point. They do not know, nor care what they are describing with the word “System,” added as a description of “government.”
An overall definition of “system” can be found in the New England Complex System Institute, NECSI — “a delineated part of the universe which is distinguished from the rest by an imaginary boundary.” That definition is true but not exact enough to explain and understand how in a particular case a system exists or works. It is after all a discipline of thinking that leads to understanding.

Russell Ackoff was very precise when he spoke of it,
A “System is a whole with properties that none of its parts have.”

Inversely and very importantly,
“The performance of the system —
doesn’t depend on how the parts perform taken separately,
It depends on how they perform together.”
- Their interaction is specific to the result desired.
- In our case, the result desired is “COMPROMISE.” Definition of Compromise? “A settlement of differences in which each side makes concessions.” That is what “representation” is all about.
Ackoff continues,
“Therefore, there are essential characteristics for a system that allows it to achieve its purpose.”
When we take into account all the parts of the system that achieve the purpose we described, we can also see the goal can only be achieved when the parts work together. None of the parts working individually can achieve the same purpose.
Today, we look at our “Government System” and see a bastard organization at work. Why the word bastard? Because, one part of the system is acting like the “whole,” without care for the rest. “The parts are NOT working TOGETHER.”
This type of government behavior is NOT what the Constitution was after. We are no longer fulfilling the What each one of the members of OUR government SWORE TO UPHOLD.
Next — Understanding that,
“Improving the performance of parts of the system taken separately will NOT improve the performance of the whole.”
