My First Passive Income Report on Medium

I‘m beyond excited to share with you my first article on my passive income streams for the month of February 2023.

My purpose on this platform is to motivate and inspire you to create several streams of income and stop relying only on your 9–5 income. Not everyone likes to talk about money (and that’s fine) but with the rising cost of living it’s important to find various ways to make more money to support those we care about and live life on your own terms.

I’ve been working hard to diversify my income sources and these have been growing from strength to strength.

Now, let’s take a look at the month of February.

1. Amazon KDP — $1708.19

I started selling books on Amazon in June 2020 and since then it has been a rollercoaster ride. I have created a range of no, low and mid content books which have been making me consistent income on the platform. This income stream has become very passive for me as I have only uploaded 1 book in the past 3 months.

My five bestselling books of the months include a log book, 2 activity books, a quiz book and a coloring book.

However, this amount is not all profit and I did run ads which resulted in an ad spend of $530.17.

2. Youtube Adsense — $281.06

This is a new income stream addition that I am delighted about. I started my youtube channel in July 2021 and I’ve struggled to stay motivated with it. Some videos can take hours of research and editing and then you can end up hardly getting any views.

I made up my mind in December 2022 that one of my goals for 2023 would be to finally get my channel monetised and it happened towards the end of late January. I created 2 videos that went viral and it’s unbelievable to think that those 2 videos got me monetised in under 2 weeks but the 18 month before that built the foundations.

3. Affilate Marketing — $97

Affiliate marketing is a type of online marketing where you promote a product or service of another business or individual and then receive a commission for any sales made through their affiliate link. I list various products on my youtube channel in the descriptions and comments section.

I only promote products I use and I have made money with and I believe this is the best approach if you want to grow this income stream.

4. Creative Fabrica — $40.95

Creative Fabrica is an online marketplace for digital assets, primarily focused on providing graphic design resources such as fonts, graphics, templates, and craft files. I sell kdp interiors, canva templates, graphics and digital paper on this platform.

5. Etsy — $8.77

Last but not least for this month is Etsy. Now, Etsy is an e-commerce platform that allows you to buy and sell handmade, vintage, digital and unique goods.

This is my fourth month on the platform and I’m glad to be earning some income from on here. I uploaded 21 designs in my first month and I have not added much since but I need to get more consistent with the platform as it has some much potential. I sell mostly kdp interior and canva templates on Etsy.

This is not all profit as fees and marketing (offsite ads) came to $2.33.

Conclusion

I’ve detailed all the different passive income streams that made me $2135.97 in February 2023. I do sell on other platforms such as Merch By Amazon and Redbubble but I did not make any sales.

I’m looking forward to the month of March as I plan to upload some KDP coloring books, notebooks and activity books. I will also be creating more youtube videos and adding more digital products. Finally I will be writing more stories on medium and I would love for you to follow along my journey.
