PROMPTED WRITING | ART PLANTING SEEDS OF CHANGE
Passionfruit Pav
A Sugary High
Crunchy then chewy
Airy and gooey
Egg white and sugar combine
Baked to sweet divine
Fruit and cream plopped on top
Gently so the pav doesn’t flop
Passionfruit my favourite
Spooned slowly to savour it
According to my taste buds, pavlova is the ultimate dessert. I miss it. My waist, not so much. The primary ingredient in pavlova is Egg.
Since our daughter Billie is allergic, it is a dessert that has disappeared from the Christmas feast since she was born.
My sister-in-law is the master of making them. The extended family all eagerly awaiting a time when Billie is a bit older, so we can eat it more safely in her presence.
There is a battle over the origin. New Zealander’s laying claim to it, Australian’s doing the same. Research supporting both claims to fame.
It matters not to me the origin. I am simply grateful it exists.
YUMMMMM!
A link to make the deliciousness
Thanks for the prompt of Sweet Stories goes to
Suntonu Bhadra and his piece
and
Paroma Sen with
Both deliciously crafted.
Each sparked my taste buds, and I went to investigate more as I hadn’t heard of Chomchom of Porabar or Kheer Kadam before.
Time being a little more free when searching for Kheer Kadam.
Searching for recipes led to a YouTube clip on how to make Khoya — a main ingredient in Kheer Kadam.
Before the clip ran, an ad came on. Usually, I have my mouse hovering over the countdown to click on Skip Ad>>, but not this time.
The story had me hooked.
I watched an ad in entirety for the first time in a very long time.
I ended up in tears and compelled to pledge a small monthly amount — almost equal to the earnings I have been getting of late on Medium.
Wish it was more, but every little bit helps.
