A Christmas farewell

In the quaint town of Russell Road, Emma and Michael were celebrating their first Christmas together as newlyweds. Their cozy cottage was adorned with twinkling lights, a majestic tree, and the sweet aroma of gingerbread. They snuggled by the fireplace, basking in the glow of their newfound love, eager to create lasting memories.

However, their idyllic evening was interrupted by a knock at the door. Michael, puzzled, opened it to find a man standing in the snow, his eyes a mirror of longing and disbelief. It was John, Emma’s first husband, whom everyone believed had perished in a tragic hiking accident three years ago.
