Pandemic Love
Trying to find love during a pandemic is stressful.
The line to get into the grocery store is unbelievably long, due to the global pandemic. Everyone is trying to stock up on food and household items, while some people are simply trying to find love. The search for love was a high priority for Sonia before the pandemic started, so it’s been put on the back burner for awhile. Surprisingly, there was a sudden calm wind blowing through Sonia’s hair, which she appreciated, given she’s been standing in line for nearly twenty minutes outside, with the temperature above 80 degrees.
As the refreshing wind continued for several minutes, Sonia turned around and noticed a tall gentleman fanning her from behind.
“Oh, I didn’t mean to startle you. I noticed you becoming restless and starting to sweat, so I thought I’d help by gently fanning you.”
In utter shock, Sonia was at a loss for words, yet flattered that this gentleman stood behind her for several minutes trying to keep her cool.
“Wow, that’s so thoughtful of you. Thanks, but you don’t have to do that.”
“It’s my pleasure, and I don’t mind. By the way, my name is Trevor, and it’s the least I could do for a beautiful woman standing in line in this hot weather.”
“My, my…you are a true gentleman, Trevor. I’d hate for your wife to notice you fanning me.”
“She’ll never notice because I don’t have a wife, but I wish I did.”
Sonia’s mind went blank for a few seconds, as she’s standing and staring up at Trevor, whom stands over 6 feet tall, medium build, clean-cut, bald head, and has charm that she’s never experienced before.
“Are you at least six inches?” Sonia muttered, under her face mask.
“I’m sorry, what are you referring to about six inches?” Trevor asks, with a look of amazement.
“Oh, please forgive me…I’m so sorry. I meant to ask, are you at least six feet away for social distancing?”
Without a doubt, Sonia is embarrassed, as she’s assuming Trevor thinks she’s trying to be coy, insinuating something of a sexual nature. Out of nowhere, Trevor came closer lifting up his mask, kneeling down to Sonia, as she carefully removed her mask. They both embraced, Sonia thrusting her breasts onto Trevor as he gently kissed her neck, making his way down to her chest. Sonia wrapped her legs around Trevor’s waist, as she gasped for breath after he gripped her body, in an attempt to finish removing the sweat and fragrance oil from her chest. Sonia started to hear sweet love whispers from Trevor.
“Sonia…Sonia…are you alright?” Trevor whispers.
“Of course, I’m alright. Wait…oh, my…” Sonia whispers, as she covers her face.
Sonia just realized that she’d been daydreaming in front of Trevor this whole time.
“Trevor, I’m terribly sorry about that. Standing in line all this time, and in this heat, it must be getting to me.”
“No problem, Sonia. Actually, I’m impressed with your personality. Now, I’ve informed you that I don’t have a wife. Do you have a husband, or anyone special in your life?”
“No, I don’t, but I’d like to.”
“Well, how about we exchange phone numbers and keep in touch during this pandemic? When the stay-at-home orders are lifted, perhaps you’ll allow me to treat you out to dinner?”
To avoid being embarrassed again, Sonia wanted to confirm what she just heard.
“Trevor, did you just say we should exchange phone numbers, and did you ask me to dinner?”
“But, of course. I have one more question, Sonia. Given that we are social distancing, can we both remove our face masks for a moment to see each other’s smile?”
Sonia nodded her head and, slowly, removed her face mask, with a smile. Trevor removed his mask, as well. Shockingly, love can be found anywhere, even at a grocery store during a pandemic.
