Abstract

because, you stumbled on the steps. Your vision blurred; I know.

Please, let me sit beside you to nudge some water as you cough on an empty stomach. I will stare, you will relent, you will eat, I will be content, (always am to see you eat),

then, keep me in the attic, until you can find the time (no hurry), to take me to the Ganges. Let me dissolve away, no, not with you, just me. For one last time, you hear me clear- return to the shore and live your life ©M.D.B.

In response to Radha Kapadia’s theme ‘Death’… Do read her beautiful poem here:

<a href="https://readmedium.com/the-mysterious-blade-722f83

When they bring to you what remains of me in an earthen pot, accept it with a smile. Be sure, in those ashes will be me smiling back, with joy that slips into me when you are near, or far yet near, walk home from there, and place me on the table while you have dinner, gone cold, because, you stumbled on the steps. Your vision blurred; I know. Please, let me sit beside you to nudge some water as you cough on an empty stomach. I will stare, you will relent, you will eat, I will be content, (always am to see you eat), then, keep me in the attic, until you can find the time (no hurry), to take me to the Ganges. Let me dissolve away, no, not with you, just me. For one last time, you hear me clear- return to the shore and live your life ©M.D.B.
