Overthinking Is Depleting You From Self Progression

The more you make a difference in the world the more the world makes a difference in you. What you decide to pay attention to has a huge affect on your reality and what YOU create in YOUR life.

Your Own Worst Enemy

You are what you decide to focus on most. Rather it be a mild insecurity or even a MAJOR one… your brain only knows the things you focus on most. If you focus on a successful business plan, you’ll be more motivated to make moves towards that plan confidently. Or you have the freedom to choose to dwell on ideas of what could go wrong, and just like that those dreams become just an idea itself. Overthinking possibilities of what can go wrong leads to more anxiousness and pressure towards your goal. Which then causes more mistakes, unclear thinking and/or judgement, and impatience. Making your goals that much harder to accomplish because now a giant obstacle lays in your way. (Yourself and your overthinking) We have to learn the true power of our brains. Our brains are like a seedlings, and in order to grow and blossom we have to replenish it with positive affirmations, and nurture it! (As well as feeding it the proper food and water of course!) Start taking notice of when your thoughts are turning negative and/or you start blaming yourself for everything. We tend to save our true feelings and instead of looking for a solution, we wait for someone else to step up, and start blaming ourselves. Something about the feeling of the world crashing down on us fuels us and we scream at the sky as if this is the only way we can feel something. To mask the guilt and shame we inflict on ourselves.

The Suspense Of Not Knowing

For some of us it drives us crazy not knowing what the plan is, what is going on, or where our life is headed. We wonder, and ponder over every possible solution to what is to come and oftentimes our minds reflect on the worst outcomes probable. We never know what is to even come without taking risks. The only thing stopping us from taking that step is the evil creeping gnawing, called overthinking. Learn to love not knowing what is going to happen. In many ways that mindset can make life so much more exciting. Living life with uncertainty is the secret to living a life full of unpredictable happiness. We have to learn how to drop the rules you have set for yourself and other people! (especially the standards and rules you have set on other people) You have no right to interfere how they live their lives (even if your way is better, it’s always going to be their own choice to make). You are putting more pressure and burdens on yourself for things you’ll never be able to change. Which then lead to disappointments and dissatisfaction and, everything else just seems so much harder. So we have to avoid trying to have that control, and overthinking every single obstacle that gets in our way.

Stop Asking “What If”

I know you’ve heard this time and time again, but here I am telling you to get over the overthinking and actually apply this rule to your life. It’s one of the major tools of procrastination. Fantasizing about everything that could go wrong, on top of unrealistic ideas that have not even happened yet. Seems crazy to do, when it’s actually all laid out in front of you, am I right? You can go through obstacles and challenges for so long, and the thing that ends up stopping you from continue the push is those “what ifs”. The thing is, those outcomes don’t even exist right now. It COULD, but so could a great outcome. You are holding yourself back from something uncertain, but the truth? You can never predict or plan for every possible outcome either way. Stop holding yourself back and go with the flow. (And don’t tinker with the decisions you end up making!)

So let’s say you finally made your decision, you finally got over the obstacles that you have been held back by… SO STOP TRYING TO TINKER EVERY LITTLE DETAIL. That will only lead to more obstacles and procrastination! Tinkering/adjusting the little (or even bigger) details, is a form of perfectionism. Which we all know is the key to unlocking the door of madness. We will then never stop until things are adjusted the way we want them to be. So again, you are trying to take control of situations without letting things flow freely. All the progress you made won’t even matter anymore! Just let it be, let it flow. What is meant for you will be. Always.
