
Outlier Ventures Discovers the Next Big Thing in Cryptocurrency… or Do They?

Outlier Ventures has finally revealed the nine teams that have made it into the prestigious Bitcoin Base Camp cohort, backed by none other than Plassa Capital and IOV Labs.
The Bitcoin Base Camp, a Web3 accelerator program, is being run by Outlier Ventures, and it has certainly piqued the interest of the crypto community. The program is geared towards supporting early-stage Web3 founders and has garnered significant attention due to its association with industry giants such as Plassa Capital and IOV Labs.
The selected startups, a total of nine in number, were chosen from a pool of global applicants and are dedicated to building applications, products, and protocols that leverage the Bitcoin network. The program, consisting of a remote 12-week accelerator, will provide the selected teams with workshops, mentorship, and support from Outlier Ventures, Plassa Capital, and IOV Labs.
This momentous occasion marks a significant milestone in the crypto ecosystem, as these startups are committed to accelerating innovation on the Bitcoin network, which currently holds a dominant position in the digital asset space. The program aims to harness the potential of the Bitcoin network by focusing on innovations in composability, functionality, and scalability.
The selected teams will benefit from the expertise and support of Plassa Capital, a venture capital firm deeply entrenched in the global crypto ecosystem, and IOV Labs, a core contributor to Rootstock, one of the most secure Bitcoin sidechains.
Rootstock, with its Turing-complete smart contract platform, has paved the way for developers to create products and services on top of Bitcoin, enhancing its programmability and making transactions cheaper, faster, and more scalable.
The nine chosen startups, namely Deeplake, Joltz, Sati, Ordinox, Takenos, Sailing Protocol, Loka Mining, SimpleFi, and Bloom, represent a diverse and dynamic group of innovators committed to unlocking the untapped potential of Web3.
Throughout the program, Outlier Ventures, Plassa Capital, and IOV Labs will provide tailored support to each startup across various verticals, including DeFi solutions on Bitcoin, Middleware & UX/UI for emerging dApps, asset issuance capabilities on Bitcoin, and solutions tied to Bitcoin’s unique Proof-of-Work consensus.
Jean-Philippe Jabre, the Founder at Plassa Capital, expressed his excitement about supporting entrepreneurs driving innovation in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
