Our Human Family Celebrates Black History Month
With untold Black History
Black History Month is upon us, and Our Human Family will be bringing you untold or little known Black History to add to the conversation. My name is William Spivey, and I am honored to be the guest editor for this series of articles. Beginning today and every Sunday in February, Our Human Family will publish four handpicked feature stories from writers familiar to OHF readers with two exciting writers who will grace these pages for the first time.

In addition to myself, the OHF Black History series will feature Marley K., who always brings the heat. Her feature will tell of a decades-long struggle most of you will never have heard about. Cocoa Griot makes her debut in this Our Human Family series though she has a huge Medium following of her poetry and prose. She’ll discuss a little-known but not so little aspect of a historic event that will change the way you look at . . . well, you’ll see. Carol Burns is new to Medium altogether, and she has a fresh take on Black History Month. My story will examine a familiar tale, but I’ll focus on important facts you don’t already know.
Look for us to publish a new story each Sunday of Black History Month. I’m excited and hope you will be as well. I promise it won’t be the same old Black History that I got every year. Enjoy!
