Oopsie Goldberg
She Was Wrong — but Please Don’t Cancel Her

Whoops.
Did she really just say that? Cringe.
Yes, she did. And guess what? I have absolutely zero problem with it.
There is nothing that I loathe more than cancel culture. Nothing. I disagree with a good deal of the progressive left agenda but I am 100% ok with them expressing it. Whoopie Goldberg included.
She got it half right — the thing about “man’s inhumanity toward other men.”
The other half she botched was a biggie though, especially now. The Holocaust had everything to do with the idea that one race was superior to another.
I honestly believe that she meant what she said, and, even though she was wrong, it’s her opinion.
Misinformed but her opinion nonetheless. Does ABC News need to censor her over this? Are we too ignorant to not spot her mistake and decide for ourselves if she was right or wrong and then also make the decision to possibly stop watching The View?
Do viewers worship the altar of Whoopie Goldberg so fervently that they aren’t intelligent enough to discern what she says? She needs to be canceled or suspended because of that? (By the way, ABC News did announce today that they will suspend her for two weeks).
She better double-check her Twitter feed — maybe there are more groups of people that she has offended in the past. If that’s the case she needs more than just a two-week suspension.
What do these suspensions or cancellations accomplish, anyway? Nothing.
“Please change your worldview NOW to align with ours and not a minute sooner.” And we want people to be “authentic.” That is unless your opinion is different.
There is nothing wrong with having incorrect information, making a stupid comment, and then learning otherwise. It’s called personal growth.
There’s also nothing wrong with simply having an honest opinion and throwing it out there and having people disagree with it. It might be ignorant, it might be dumb, but we’ll survive.
Now, go grab that remote in between the cushions and change the channel.
