Online Course Software Now Has Built-In AI Curriculum Generator

Is this a good thing?

What a time to be alive.

The leading online course software platform Teachable recently announced that they now have an AI curriculum generator built right into their software.

Seriously, making money online has never been easier.

Back in my day, we actually had to come up with ideas, outlines, and content all on our own.

(exasperated eyeroll)

Now, because of AI, you don’t even have to lift a neuron to come up with your own online course content.

I’m kidding, well, sort of.

As a solopreneur, I’m actually a big fan of using AI tools to work more efficiently and productively.

So, before we judge this new Teachable feature for being a fake guru enabler, let’s see how it actually works.

Create An Online Course with AI

Let’s say that you have a “rough” idea for an online course, but you’re stuck on how to organize it.

Or maybe you’re worried you missed an important topic in your outline.

That’s where Teachable’s AI curriculum generator can help.

Here’s how.

(You can create a free account here if you’d like to follow along and try this out.)

Once you are in Teachable, just go to Courses > Create.

Next, type a name for your course and tick the box that says, “Help me generate a course outline.”

Then click “Continue.”

(You can always change the name later.)

Next, create a “description” for your course.

It seems that you can include as many details here as you like. However, I’m sure the more detailed you are, the better your results will be.

I just used a short two-sentence description.

Then, click “generate.”

And…

THIS is what it gave me —

I now have the option to continue with the outline it gave me or use a blank outline that I would fill in myself.

You can also add more sections and lessons to the AI-generated outline.

My Thoughts

I actually think this is pretty cool.

The outline is basic, but I gave Teachable a very generic description of what I wanted for my course, so I wasn’t expecting anything too crazy.

I could also see myself using this to create book outlines.

Honestly, this feature alone could save me hours of work by giving me a solid jumping-off point for any digital product idea.

I will tell you that this AI feature won’t create ALL of your course content for you with the click of a button.

We’re not there YET.

You’ll still need to script and record your video, audio, or text lessons.

But that’s what Jasper AI and ChatGPT are for, lol.

I digress.
