One Trump Fan I Would Rather Not Know

She is a little extreme

She is a devoted fan of Trump

Donald Trump obviously has millions of followers who support him no matter what he says or how he acts. He has the extreme group like those who stormed the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021. He has called them his “poorly educated” supporters that he loves. He gave them a place in the Republican party. They may have been there before, but they found acceptance from Trump. They are considered as an important part of his base, but they are not alone in their support of a disgraced leader. Trump also has many supposedly regular and reasonable Republicans who still support him.

There are ideas and actions of some of Trump’s base which do not seem logical. A woman I know is part of Trump’s loyal base. This woman used to be a friend, and sometimes I see a Facebook post she has made. She obviously thinks of herself as a religious and righteous person. She loves certain things and people, but she espouses a lot of hate and vitriol on Facebook.

Social media has at times allowed people to be anonymous as they express their true feelings. Most Facebook comments come up with the person’s name in full view. It shows the world what they are thinking and feeling as they express what is on their mind. This woman is not shy about commenting regularly on posts which declare love for Trump and disdain for Democrats.

It is not uncommon for this woman to make comments. Most of the posts must go to her friends because the comments are largely favorable to her and her way of thinking. Birds of a feather flock together. That seems to be the case with these people.

Although she is not likely to admit to being racist, she was anxious and happy to make very derogatory comments about President Obama and his wife Michelle after Trump became President. She was critical of their physical characteristics as she praised Trump and his wife. Her racist tendencies were exhibited.

As someone who does not agree with this woman, I do not regularly read her posts. It is sometimes interesting to see what the other side is saying, but it is a little distressing to see so many people expressing such hatred for their fellowmen.

This woman probably would have joined the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol with other Trump supporters if she had been able to go. She lives in a rural area and complains about Democrats trying to keep them in poverty. She actually blames the Democrats for the Capitol riots. Her family likes their guns and hunting. She has said that she would be glad to shoot anyone who invaded her home and space. She is a true follower of Trump.

It is unfortunate that there are many people like this woman. She might not consider herself as a white supremacist, but her comments indicate that she is. She enjoys her white privilege even if she does not have wealth, power, or influence.

I know this Trump fan, but erasing all traces of her from my life might be advisable. She does not make life pleasant and definitely would not be missed.

Trump is gone, but he continues to have influence over others including this woman and many who are like her.

Unity in the United States will be difficult with such people around. President Joe Biden hopes to bring unity to the United States. That will be a difficult task.
