Thoughts from Women Worth Remembering— it’s Women’s History Month
Happiest Girls are the prettiest girls ~ Audrey Hepburn

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie-burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”
Audrey Hepburn certainly made Earth a classier place and I am sure where ever she is now, she’s classed it up there too.
Audrey Hepburn wasn’t just a movie star. She was flat-out fabulous, in that uniquely reserved way only she had. Audrey Hepburn became a UNICEF ambassador — long before it was cool for celebrities to do the spokesperson thing for charity organizations.
What impresses me about her: her dedicated, humble approach and hands-on committment. She didn’t just talk about doing good deeds, she actually did them ie she got her hands dirty, helping people where it was needed. She carried on during her illness, to the end. Audrey Hepburn died of cancer January 20, 1993.
As far as the kissing goes (mentioned in Ms. Hepburn’s thought bubble quote), well, once we toss our lockdown leisure sweats aside, we may resume kissing strangers (not that I made a habit of going up to strangers and kissing them before but when all this is over, I may be overcome with such joy, I won’t be able to help myself. You know, to make up for the not kissing time we’ve missed) It will be quite awesome when we finally can kiss and hug and show our affections for the people we love. The happy comes with it. There is no better time than now to have hope for happy.
I was going to make this a post with five quotes from five famous women; some thoughts worth sharing they had. But there are so many women out there we don’t know about that we should know about. So it’s going to be a mix of famous female rebels from the past, glass ceiling smashers and the less known, but just as rebellious, awesome women, working without the glory of adulation, past and present. I won’t bring them glory with my posts but I can and will show my respect and admiration. And anyone who reads about them here — several a week shall appear.
Plus, another factor: we are inundated with quotes, inspirational, smart, funny, educational. While so many are thought provoking, I’m taking the less is more approach.
So, several thoughts, quotes from women I admire, throughout the month of March: thoughts from worthy trailblazers — past and present this Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day March 8th. Lots of cool events everywhere (be sure to check them out) and here, in Vienna, some museums are waiving entrance fees for us.
Stay safe lovelies.
