Before we get into any specific advice, at the outset, let’s remove the wrong connotation attached to the word “lazy”.

Let’s look at this term ‘lazy’ from the perspective of one of the most successful and richest people on the planet, when he said:

“I choose a lazy person to do a hard job. Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.” ~ Bill Gates

But Bill Gates was not the only one who had this perspective. Let’s look at another figure from history.

One German General Kurt Von Hammerstein-Equord, used this specific categorization to assess what kind of people deserve to become highly successful in military forces. He used the following criterion while selecting his officers in his army.

Here is what he stated:

“I divide my officers into four groups.

There are clever, diligent, stupid, and lazy officers. Usually two characteristics are combined.

1. Some are clever and diligent — their place is the General Staff.

2. The next lot are stupid and lazy — they make up 90 percent of every army and are suited to routine duties.

3. One must beware of anyone who is stupid and diligent — he must not be entrusted with any responsibility because he will always cause only mischief.

4. Anyone who is both clever and lazy is qualified for the highest leadership duties, because he possesses the intellectual clarity and the composure necessary for difficult decisions.

Now you would agree that being lazy is not a bad thing. But you need to endeavor to become clever alongside being lazy to get the maximum out of your life.

Hang on!

I understand that you are a lazy person, so obviously you wouldn’t want to follow any advice to do hard work for improving your intelligence.

So here comes the Easiest advice to a lazy person.

You just need to plug in your headphone and the loads and loads of knowledge will start pouring into your brain without you lifting another finger.

Yes, I’m talking about listening to audiobooks. Most of the high-quality books are now available in the audio format, which has the potential to change your mindset and provide you the necessary tools to become more intelligent.

Being a lazy person, you wouldn’t want to strenuously and actively go through page after pages of a book, so you would want something that is passive. Listening to an audiobook is passive. You don’t have to read, rather a knowledge is being streamed to your head while listening to quality audiobooks.

Also, you don’t need to be glued at a place to listen to your books. You can easily combine some low-engaging activity with listening like washing your dishes or going for a lazy walk.
