One Solid Way To Grow Your Side Hustle: Focus on One Utility Bill
Let somebody else pay that $103 next month
I came across this impressive guy named Justin Welsh, who quit his job and now runs a boutique advisory firm creating digital products that hit big.
In one of his posts about making money online, Justin emphasized picking up a bill and creating something that will sell to cover the same. You have so many options to build something — merely going over the articles in this publication provides a lot of wisdom.
If you do not know where to start, all you need to do is pick one and try it out.
Do not lose yourself
The problem for some people is that they are overwhelmed with so much information. It reaches a point where they do not know where to start. Maybe you tried something already — but you have been jumping to different moneymaking streams — and have neglected what you started from the beginning.
Someone from a featured article probably inspired you. When you tried building something, you realized it was hard. The outcome looked easy — but you realized that there is a lot of effort done to get there.
Or maybe you have been throwing haymakers thinking that you will soon hit big. Until you get tired and weary — you end up being the frustrating end of the day.
Target the low hanging fruit
I wonder if your bills are still physically mailed to you. Some countries are mandated to send physical copies of billings as required by the Internal Revenue Services — while others are fine with digital copies.
Whatever form you receive, gather all bills you get monthly, and rank them from highest to lowest. The statement of account that has the menial amount is your target amount.
Let us say an electricity bill for 102 dollars. Think of a product or income stream that you can create to settle the bill (instead of taking it from your monthly salary and allowance).
Dream big but do not aim to skip
Most people get stuck thinking about what hustle to do afterward.
You do not need to spend nights (doing a study) on what business to start or venture in. Merely look at your Google drive to see what knowledge product you can create around it.
There are many options — you can create an eBook, simple but meaty how-to-do guidelines, or a 45-minute online course. If you determine a market, sell it.
Never be shy about launching it. If you are selling something — and it will bring value to that specific prospect — then do it.
If you do not have the confidence yet — try this.
- Imagine who will buy your product — his profile, what he does, and why you think he needs it.
- Search who in your network fits that profile.
- Offer it for free and document their experience
- Upgrade (Improve the product) and secure testimonials
Do not complicate it. Making money does not need to be complex. You (should) start somewhere. Otherwise, you will go nowhere.
So get out there and search for a single profile that matches your target. Pitching it to three or four guys every month would save you $103.
Start now, meet the number, scale — and repeat the cycle.
