One Simple Way to Save Money That 99% of People Don’t Realize
You should find something first.
“Damn! It’s been 5 years! 5!!!”
My mom said those words as we had a family meeting to address our summer vacation.
It’s been 5 years since we took a serious vacation out of Ohio. My mom is restless to get out of town.
But…we can’t.
We haven’t saved enough money, our dog passed away, and my sister had to pay for 2 flat tires.
Our unexpected expenses coupled with only having $100 in our vacation fund ruined the trip.
The crazy part?
We thought about going anyway. Once we realized we’d most likely be in debt if we went, we decided to hold off for a year and save our damn money.
One thing most people don’t realize is that saving money is all a matter of denying your luxuries.
Everyone is so enamored with the thought of looking like The Great Gatsby that they don’t realize these luxuries will destroy their bank accounts.
I used to be the same way.
I loved to buy Adidas clothing. Tracksuits were everything to me. I’d go on their website and buy the latest piece of cool clothing I could find.
Every time I got my paycheck, I would dwindle it out in a millisecond.
Everything changed once the fire nation atta — I mean, once I discovered my writing passion.
Doing something you love makes you care about money less.
I’m not the aimless girl who wants to look rich anymore. I want to become the best writer I can be because I love it and I want to help others.
I’m much smarter with my money than I used to be.
I now have a wealth mindset. Everything I do is geared towards fulfillment, not instant gratification.
Do you want to avoid the luxuries that are dangled in front of you every day?
Find your passion, and stick to it.
Don’t worry about anything else.
Then, you’ll realize you’ve saved enough money to go on a vacation to Paris.
Good luck.
