One Photo And a Few Words
I love the peace winter storms offer

We’ve had little snow where I live in central Massachusetts. With few exceptions, winters are milder, and snowfalls are less than when I was growing up. Of course, I’m a bit taller now, so that may have something to do with it.
The snow began falling at mid-morning. Warmer temperatures from the previous day, and a lot of salt, kept it from sticking to the asphalt in the parking lot.
I’m usually outside by now, the sound of my camera breaking the silence of the woods. But I had to shoot this single photo from my balcony. One of my cats, Big Foot, is prone to seizures. Medication has minimized these events, but there are times when he telegraphs what kind of day he will have. He twitches every day. This morning he had a few episodes of said twitching, so I opted to stay inside and keep an eye on him.
The photo I captured won’t win any awards. I shot this for Medium readers and me. I could feel the peacefulness accompanying my walks in the woods during snowstorms.
I decided to soften the photo by decreasing the clarity. It fits my mood.
Based on an idea by Brandon Ellrich, I’m including a video, Winter Interlude, composed by Miguel Berkemeier. I think it pairs well. If you’ve read this far, thank you.
