Summary

The article reflects on the profound experience of a single moment in time, as inspired by the author's stargazing in New Zealand, emphasizing the insignificance of human concerns in the face of the universe's vastness and the interconnectedness of all existence.

Abstract

"One Moment in Time" is a contemplative piece that captures the author's reflections from a New Zealand patio, where the sight of the cosmos prompts a philosophical inquiry into the nature of existence. The author ponders the paradox of time, where a single moment can seem eternal and transcendent, allowing one to escape the trivialities of life. Amidst the grandeur of the universe, the author finds a sense of humility and unity, realizing that the beauty, love, and dreams we seek are all encapsulated in the present moment. The article suggests that this realization comes from attuning to the 'invisible timeline' where beginnings and ends dissolve, much like the stars that continue to exist beyond our perception. The author concludes by sharing the personal significance of these moments in New Zealand, where the first star spotted is named "one moment in time," symbolizing the eternal nature of the present.

Opinions

  • The author believes that the true essence of life can be found in a single moment, free from the constraints of time.
  • There is an opinion that humans often overlook or ignore the profoundness of the present moment due to a focus on unnecessary struggles.

One moment in time. That’s all I am.

One moment in time. In which time itself is no more than merely a moment. When I allow it to be. And cease to conclude what appears impossible.

In the vast eternity of nothingness and everything, what and who am I really? Who gave me the power to reason and behave the way I do? When have I succumbed to my humbleness and bowed down to the most incredible moment there ever is?

We often head out stargazing in New Zealand’s incredible nature that so unmistakably writes all the rules. Out there in its sublime creation where the external circumstances can no longer contact us. All there ever exists is the abode above — an endless ocean of shimmering, glittering ornaments.

In those moments that I wish to last forever for its peacefulness and his hand resting in mine, I forget the world around me and its mediocrity.

The smallness that befalls us in light of the greatness that surrounds us.

We often put our growth and saneness at risk in pointless combat — in search of what we already have. Always had. Always will.

It’s the one moment in time.

And it’s perfect. No one will ever snatch that from us. But we have become careless, turned a blind eye, or ignored its very being.

When I am gazing at these heavenly bodies, the world makes complete sense. Everything is accomplished. Alive or inert. Dark or light. The beauty we seek, the love we cherish, the imperfection we embrace, the loss that never is, the dreams we have — squashed or bustling.

It’s out there in the vibrational pulse of just a single beat.

That’s all there is — one moment in time. That’s all I am — one moment in time.

And when I attune to the invisible timeline, I realize it doesn’t exist. Because there’s no beginning and no end. Like the stars that teach us a lesson from the celestial heavens. While we believe they cease to be, they keep glittering down on us. They vanish and are yet alive.

There is no separation, only in our twisted minds.

It’s out there in the light of the blackness of the universe where I sense a feeling of loving safety. A source that nourishes and tenderly vibrates to and through me. I dare to call it home.

No roof, no walls. Just like the tiny house on the rainbow where the custodian of the sacred colors gracefully dwells. Invisible to the human eye. But noticeable to the soul that wanders searching for it.

One moment in time. It’s all there’s ever going to be.

I’ve discovered my moment in New Zealand. When night after night, the curtains rise, the show begins, and we hold each other’s hands and hearts. As if it were designed by divine force and will forever be that way.

It’s the very first star we spot in the mounting twilight firmament, the one I’ve given a name. I call it “one moment in time.”

And not surprisingly, the eternal moment always has a moment to twinkle back at us.
