She woke up to a tap on her shoulder. Blinking, she struggled to find her bearing. Outside, the rain had traced puddles to her doorstep. She shivered and pulled her jacket closer. It was a quarter to three.

One more month, she thought. One more month of late nights and groping hands. One more month of lewd jokes and lustful stares. One more month of pole dancing.

She counted the notes she’d stuffed into her bra. 3 grand. Double yesterday’s earnings.

Maybe, she could leave sooner.

Her phone vibrated.

‘Honey, the new club is complete’. ‘Your two-month gig starts tomorrow’.

As always thanks for reading. Keep the comments and corrections coming.
