Summary

A woman grapples with the complex emotions of a passionate encounter with a man she knows is not single, balancing the intensity of the moment with the inevitable guilt and consequences.

Abstract

In the midst of a heavy downpour, a woman experiences an intense, cinematic moment with a man who is not single, feeling the thrill of his affection and the warmth of his kiss despite the moral conflict it creates. As their bodies draw close, she is torn between the excitement of the forbidden romance and the pangs of guilt, knowing that their connection is illicit. The sensory overload of the experience heightens her awareness of the situation's gravity, leading her to question the sincerity of his affections and her own complicity in the potential betrayal. Ultimately, the reality of the man's commitment to another relationship looms over the encounter, leaving her with a mix of exhilaration and the foreboding realization that he might one day treat her with similar disregard.

As the rain falls heavily on the city streets, he moves in closer, heartbeats.

Like a movie scene, time stands still, she leans in to kiss him, the thrill.

The warm summer rain, the warmer lips, The butterfly stomach, grabs hips.

Pulling her closer their bodies skin on skin, Hairs raise on end, guilt begin.

She wants to pull away, she knows he’s not single, The lust keeps her locked, everywhere tingle.

She is where she wants to be, has for a while, He is not hers though, not yet, beguile.

The kiss has to end, there have to be consequences, But right now she feels alive, all senses.

The smell of him, the taste of his mouth, He wouldn’t have kissed her if he was happy, the doubt.

They slowly pull back and stare in each other’s eyes, He has to leave her now, despise.

He takes her hand they turn to walk away, Would he do the same to me? One day.
