On Software: How many old granny like me are still using Dreamweaver in 2022?

I updated my website late last year. In fact, the “skeleton” is the same except that the artwork / fonts have been cleaned up and some new works have been added. It looks better now and I want to share it with all of you. Welcome for working contact!
By the way, I’m really old fashion in terms of web design: I use Wix, which is popular now, but because my personal website has been built by Dreamweaver from many years ago (when I was in the multimedia design school, 2003!!), thus I still use Dreamweaver to write my website.
Many people say that DW will be eliminated, because now everyone uses wix, word press, etc., but I think DW is still a very sophisticated and comprehensive software. It is much more difficult than wix, but it has a lot more freedom, you can enter the code mode to change the code, and freely design the position of the sections completely. I personally like to use it to build up websites from scratch.
However, the times have changed. Even if you may find many old tools are easier to use and more complete, if people don’t use them, then you have to adapt to the new ones, even you think that they have poorer functions. Similar incidents happened in the mid-2000s.
At that time, I mostly used Macromedia’s Freehand, and felt that the biggest competitor software, Adobe’s Illustrator (Ai) was very useless. In Ai, a very simple graphic needs to be done in three steps of Freehand, and the file size is much larger. Later, at around 2005/6, Freehand was bought by Adobe, and after lowering its functions (it should be said that the adopted Freehand was no longer improve, as adobe only to improve their own child, Ai), Freehand almost disappeared from the market. Also the company I worked with and other cooperative companies are all using Ai instead of Freehand, I also have to ditch Freehand. Now I don’t know anyone who are using Freehand anymore.
Dreamweaver was also Macromedia’s software at first, and it was later bought by Adobe. To be honest, I don’t want dreamweaver to be killed like Freehand. Although the software for making websites is in its own shines, there are some areas where dreamweaver is better. However, its survival is not decided by an individual, but by the market and market-oriented. The former is how many people use it, and the latter is whether the software company will slowly remove it, just like the death of Freehand.
In fact, It is almost the same with work…. The more skilled or experienced old employees may not stay, and the young staff with better relationship with management and better “marketing image” (relationship/ external support) would always be more successful. After it successes, everyone only remembers the winner, and those that were eliminated will slowly fade away and disappear from history. Isn’t it?
