On Being Intensely Inconsistent

Here is a short history of productivity/resiliency-speak.

In the olden days, folks were earnest.

Our parents or grandparents were disciplined.

We persisted.

The youth are consistent.

2020 is about being steadFAST.

In truth, I did not become a success in a year.

I worked intensely on and off toward that one year of success ever since Mrs. Barnes my first-grade teacher took extra time to teach illiterate me how to read, most of the four years I studied English Literature, Cinema, and Philosophy at the University of Virginia, the two-year membership I had with Charlottesville, Virginia’s writer house, the four years I blogged on Wordpress, and all of the living and dying I did in between.

Initially, I thought I couldn’t be a professional writer because my natural talent led me to be good, not great.

Then, I became a paid blogger.

I remember how I felt more confident, creative, and heard.

Also, being virtually around a community of amazing writers and readers pushes me to think more critically, the humility to learn, and create more work.

Then, I developed the steadFAST 1.0 system for using Medium.

I wrote it for focused, energetic, curious, open newcomers to get in two minutes what it took me a year to understand with the hope they will include me in their newer and quicker hacks.

I don’t have all the answers but I love playing the constantly changing game.

Now, it’s your turn to be steadFASTER.
