On Ease During the Busiest of Days
Wednesday, September 28–Autumn Invitations: A 21-Day Daily Writing Journey — Day 7 (And Next Week’s Prompts)

I am participating in a 21-Day Daily Writing Journey. You can learn more and join in at anytime here:
Please also be sure to read Lady Dr. Gabriella Korosi’s beautiful story on Ease that she shared today. It helped me meditate on the meaning of the word before I sat down to write this.
A short post today, partly because I am working with an energy that is the complete opposite of ease. It’s been and a busy and somewhat stressful day, and I can feel my body aching for rest.
My yoga teacher, Darby Orr, often reminds us of the Zen proverb:
“You should sit in meditation for twenty minutes every day — unless you’re too busy; then you should sit for an hour.”
This morning, my wristwatch alerted me to the end of my ten minutes of meditation, but I could feel that my body needed more, so I sat for another three minutes. Today, I have a lot to do — and to process — and I was also worried about getting this post written. However, this writing, this autumn invitation that I have extended both to myself, and to you, is itself a meditation.
And so I am here, writing.
I will try to meet the rest of the day with a bit more ease. I will focus on the pause before the exhale, and then I will allow the exhale to release.
I wish ease for you as well.
Here are this next week’s invitations (Week 2):
Day 1: Thursday, September 29: Strength
Day 2: Friday, September 30: Expression
Day 3: Saturday, October 1: Sweetness
Day 4: Sunday, October 2: Celebration
Day 5: Monday, October 3: Connection
Day 6: Tuesday, October 4: Love
Day 7: Wednesday, October 5: Forgiveness
Note: I am challenging myself to a 21-day autumnal reset to my writing here, and I’m inviting you to join me. I’ve listed the second set of seven seeds of inspiration for you below. I’ll release the other seeds towards the end of the next week.
You can, of course, jump in at any time! Please tag me in your posts if you do!
