On design teams publications (and why is important)

More and more design teams are starting their own publications. Last one i discovered is Dropbox Team one. Some of them use platforms like Medium, some use personal blogs, but the point is: teams are talking about design decisions.

They share design processes, flows, workflows and so on and let me say: it’s fantastic. Why?

When so much people talk about the importance of organization’s design, it means that, finally, everyone is understanding the value of good design.

I’m not talking about esthetic, or a well designed interface. I’m talking about design as a core value of the team. As a company-culture-point that everyone share, as a vision, as a modus operandi on day-by-day work.

It’s not only about fine tuning, it’s a mental process, a different approach on doing things and this is amazing!

I can see same, slow, changes on my team: people start thinking in a different way, to solve problems with a different perspective: it’s not only about to close tasks, but to find best solutions, keeping users in mind, always facing ‘the big-application-picture’.This is priceless.

Let design spread the world!!
