Your shadow is the best seeker.
I was scrolling through photos for Anne Bonfert’s shadow prompt. I stopped on this photo because of the tree shadow slicing through the bonfire pit and giggled when I realized my shadow was in the photo, something I missed the first time around.
I still remember when I was a little girl first noticing my shadow. Being annoyed by its stalking presence as I hopscotched on the sidewalk. “Get away!”
And watching my kids first discover their shadow, trying to outrun and hide from it.
But why be annoyed by your shadow? Embrace what it reveals.
