Summary

The text poetically discusses the process of healing from emotional wounds, emphasizing the importance of addressing injuries, moving forward, and recognizing the resilience of the human spirit.

Abstract

The article "Of Wounds and Liquid Sand" uses the metaphor of skin regeneration to explore emotional healing. It suggests that healing is not merely about covering up scars but also about nurturing the inner self. The body's wisdom in healing is likened to the harmonious cooperation of internal processes. The author, Anthi Psomiadou, advocates for a balanced approach to dealing with past hurts: to acknowledge and understand them, but also to let go and move on without being trapped in revenge or self-pity. The text encourages readers to seek objectivity and expand their consciousness, ultimately recognizing their eternal soul within the physical body.

Heal and roll

Show me your scars and I’ll know where your power lives; There, in the wound, where you re-created skin. The body didn’t just cover it up; it did that while taking care of inside. The processes run in parallel, cooperating harmoniously. The body then moves on, having wisdom enclosed in its materiality. Addressing wounds for healing is necessary. So is moving on, not running to stand still. Freedom and sinking in quicksand don’t hold hands. Ruminate only as long as needed for you to understand. Observe, become aware, forgive and roll. Revenge or self-pity don’t take you (to the) beyond. Ephemeral the relief they offer; it is obvious. Find objectivity beyond your dark subconscious. Epiphany-after-epiphany, you expand your horizons. Your body is the great vehicle that leads you to “I’m the eternal soul”.
