Of Strengths and Weaknesses.
How does your strength affect the next person?

Strength n. The quality or degree of being strong. The intensity of a force or power; potency. (Definition by Wiktionary)
Strength; physical, mental or emotional is a good thing. We are often advised to capitalize on our strength, not weaknesses. But, what effect should our strength have on others? Should our strengths make many feel threatened over and over?
By default, we are wired to lord it over the next person when our strengths are considered. We naturally view and think condescendingly of those weaker or with less strength than us. And quite a number of times, manipulative actions set in solely on the basis of being “visibly” stronger.
Because we are wired this way doesn’t expressly mean we can’t rewire our circuits. It is commonplace to see or hear people go on about their strengths with heavy doses of superiority. Truth is, our strengths are worth it but, when we use them solely for our benefits, therein lies a problem. Our strengths should be used to protect others. Strengths endow us with a greater bearing capacity than one that lacks that strength. Protect them! Not because they seem weak but because it is well within your power to.
Strengths should be used to strengthen others. Creating some form of chain reaction. You likely did not develop this strength on your own. People helped, circumstances enabled, and experiences taught. Let your strength be a source for another. Let it be the gas in their tank as they settle into the journey of building their own strength. Strengthen others, not by rubbing your strength in their face but assuring them of your presence if they ever become unsteady in their journey.
Your strengths should encourage. Just like most success stories, your strengths should be courage to the weak. Your strength should not make them falter or feel inadequate but quite the opposite. Your strength should strengthen their resolve on their journey to discovering strength, not weaken them at thoughts of it. Your strength should encourage others to be stronger for themselves and those around them.
