Summarize

Of Loss And Longing…

A poem.

Photo by Yuris Alhumaydy on Unsplash

I stare at the clock,

Ticking like a time bomb,

With every second lasting a lifetime,

And every memory calling you mine.

When the drinks don’t work,

And the music won’t stop,

But I drink and listen,

Seeing you gleam and glisten.

I didn’t plan it out this way,

It’s only February, and I’ve already gone grey,

But the truth is here for me to face,

That now you’re gone, and I’m stuck in this same place.

And so here I am, longing for you,

My hopeless hope, still yearning too,

I stare at the clock with a heavy heart,

While each second weighs us apart.
