Ode To the Indigenous That No Longer Exist…and Those Still Trying

It’s All About You and Me

They rode from sea to shining sea…

in the name of Manifest Destiny.

The folks here first got to see

the raw side of humanity,

It was all about power, greed, and lust.

Still here today in all its glory,

still glossing over the little man’s story.

Women, children, elders too…

disease and famine with deceit mixed through.

Dare to question and feel the loss…

They hide behind the white man's cross.

Swear on the book and hope to die,

the People wiped out by the white man's lies.

We now have a choice to live peacefully

or simply cease to be.
