Human ingenuity: Is it our friend or enemy?

Humans are masters at inventing ideas, tools, machines, and platforms to organize and make their lives easier. The monthly theme for October 2022 is “human ingenuity.”

What is human ingenuity?

Human ingenuity can be defined as:

“The way in which human minds have influenced how we think, work, play, construct and conduct friendships and other relationships, interact with each other, find solutions to problems, cause problems, transform things and rationalize thought.”

What is the first thing you think about when you read the definition of the term human ingenuity? You’re welcome to develop that word, idea, or memory into a story.

Below are questions to explore as possible prompts for further ideas about human ingenuity.

  1. Why do humans want to create or change their environment?
  2. Do all human developments create a better manmade environment? How, where, and why?
  3. How do human development and creativity impact the natural environment?
  4. What is your favorite invention that made a difference in your life?
  5. Is there something you would invent? What would it be? Why?

Pondering the theme, questions, and prompts below, where will this theme take you? I am interested to find out and am looking forward to receiving your stories.
